I Adore SPRING!

I have been told this is the "Pride of the Neighborhood." I can certainly see why. I love azaleas anyway, and would have planted little baby ones when I bought this house, but to "inherit" this magnificant specimen is beyond belief! Every spring, it amazes me at how absolutely beautiful it really is.

Here's a closeup of how delicate and beautiful each individual flower is:

And there are others - in the back yard. Almost as glorious!
The white and the red (lavender and purple are still on the way):

Not to mention - the lilac that is wafting it's heavenly scent through the neighborhood!

My Busy Sunday!

As you can see, the irises are beginning to bloom in a kind of "knock your socks off" display!

This year, am trying something new - a pot of flowers on the front porch. So far, they're looking pretty good. Hopefully, they aren't planted tightly enough together to kill each other!

Also, this is the year I've finally decided to do something about the horrible "bunny" problem in the garden. I have fashioned a fence around the entire thing, small as it is, with chicken wire that I staple-gunned to tomato stakes.
Then, you might be able to just pick out about 6 tomato plants, and I put in seeds for beets, Blue Lake pole beans, butternut squash, cucumbers, spinach, leaf lettuce, and the purple beans that seem to be a particular favorite of the above-mentioned bunnies.

Hopefully this year, I will thwart these menaces to backyard gardening and come away with more than just a couple tiny, measly tomatoes to show for all my efforts!
Will post another picture sometime late this summer, when the tomatoes are hanging in huge bunches on the vines, the beans are growing up into the tree, and the cucumbers are taking over the entire west end of the garden!

That Gorgeous Azalea!

Wow Posted by Hello

Well, it's that time of year again! The reason I bought the house is in bloom! Apparently, this is the envy of the neighborhood! Also today, went out and finally got the Montmorency cherry tree I've wanted for three years, along with some flowers for the front porch and stuff for the back and tomatos for the garden. Yes, think the nice weather is finally here! Now if I could just get some grass to grow!!!

Monster Mushroom

Monster Mushroom Posted by Hello

Also, when I came home Friday night from work, saw this huge mushroom in the front yard next door - it has to be over 6 inches across. Today (Monday) it has been joined by several more.
